VDM: Vector Displacement Mesh Brushes

ZBrushCore introduces two new brushes: Chisel3D and ChiselCreature brushes. These Vector Displacement Mesh brushes allow you to sculpt with a 3D Alpha which will support overhangs or draw complex objects on the surface with a single brush stroke. Imagine being able to texture a dragon with overlapping scales or draw a fully formed ear without needing to re-sculpt it for every model.

 

Gizmo 3D Deformers

A new addition for ZBrushCore are the Gizmo 3D Deformers. ZBrushCore includes six of the 27 Deformers found in the full version of ZBrush. Each Deformer has a unique feature set to allow quick shape alterations that would not be possible through brush strokes.

 

Gizmo 3D Primitives

ZBrushCore also provides the Gizmo 3D with a unique way to rapidly design using simple geometric shapes. Artists can freely adjust the geometry that defines each shape, even after the shape has been applied to the surface. Convert a smooth cylinder to an octagon, adjust a sphere to have flat poles or change a cone into a pyramid - all in real time. Using this system, a few primitives can be turned into an entire library of sculptable shapes.

 

3D Text and Shape Creator

ZBrushCore comes with a complete generator for creating 3D text in real time. This makes it possible to create individual words or short phrases as editable 3D objects. You can also use an SVG file to create your own custom logo for placement on any surface.

 

Decimation Master

With DecimationMaster you can easily reduce the polygon count of your models in a very efficient way while intelligently analyzing the surface to keep all of its sculpted details. This solution is one of the fastest available and is able to optimize your high polycount models from ZBrushCore, allowing you to export them to your other 3D software packages. It can also reduce the polygon count for exporting into your preferred render application with no need to assign a displacement or normal map.

The slimmed down version of Decimation Master that has been added to ZBrushCore provides five new polygon count-controlled presets.

 

3D Print Hub

The full version of 3D Print Hub has been added to ZBrushCore. This plugin offers everything youll need for exporting any model for 3D Printing. Find the specific size of any mesh in mm or inches. The 3D Print Hub will allow you to export an OBJ, STL or VRML file. The STL and VRML export options will also support PolyPaint color. Importing an STL file is also supported by 3D Print Hub, including any color data.

ZBrushCore 2021 is a major upgrade that brings new features from ZBrush to users of ZBrushCore.
ZBrush sets the industry standard for digital sculpting. Its features enable you to use customizable brushes to shape, texture and paint virtual clay in a real-time environment. When you use ZBrush, youll be working with the same tools used by film studios, game developers, toy/collectible makers, jewelry designers, automotive/aviation designers, illustrators and artists worldwide.

Dynamic Subdivision

Display your model as a higher polygon version of itself, letting you see what it would look like when subdivided and smoothed without actually dividing the polygons. In ZBrushCore, this feature includes the FlatSubdiv and SmoothSubdiv options.
While working with Dynamic Subdivision active, you see the higher resolution surface while your brushes operate on the lower resolution base mesh.

MicroPoly

MicroPoly uses Dynamic Subdivision to replace each polygon with an instance of a simple 3D model. This allows your model to render as a much more complicated mesh, such as actual woven cloth!
Select from the library of presets to make a surface look like canvas or denim jeans. Even select a piece of armor to create repeatable chainmail!

ZRemesher

You read that right! Automatic retopology is added to ZBrushCore. While it doesnt have all the options that are found within ZBrush, this will allow you to instantly retopologize your model using the smart algorithms that make ZRemesher so powerful.
You wont need to worry about the kind of topology that youre creating. Feel free to explore and just let your imagination take you where it wants with the knowledge that once you have your design ZBrushCore can nearly instantly convert its polygons into a usable base mesh with clean edge loops and polygon flow.

iMage3D GIF and PNG Format

Experience a revolutionary new way to save your models! The iMage3D format provides a unique way to share both an image of your work and the 3D model itself with others, all in a single GIF or PNG file. This file can be posted on any website where it will appear as a regular 2D image and once opened in ZBrushCore the complete model with all its SubTools is ready to edit.

Sculptris File Support

ZBrushCore can now load native-format files saved from Sculptris. If you have a library of models that you created over the many years before Sculptris was discontinued, you can now open those directly in ZBrushCore to continue working.

Other Additions and Improvements

  • Even more performance enhancements have now been added to ZBrushCore. We revisited the systems behind the sculpting brushes along with many other popular features. Speed has increased across all sectors.
  • Two new sliders have been added to the Stroke palette: Stroke Jitter, which will randomly place the alpha along the brush stroke path and Brush Imperfection, which adds noise to the stroke.
  • A preference has been added to allow single-click Solo mode.
