Optical Glow is the most beautiful, highest-quality glow ever made for Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro. And while we could explain to you that Optical Glow uses an optically-correct inverse-square falloff, rather than the gaussian approximation used by other glow effects, the bottom line is that it’s easy to use and just looks awesome.
Optical Glow is perfect for professional visual effects work. With built-in gamma management, your glow always looks realistic, whether your footage is video, log, or even linear. Optical Glow offers tons of control, so whether you’re glowing a lightsaber, starship engine, police lights, or the neon signs in a futuristic dystopia, you’ll get the beautiful result you’re aiming for.
Everybody needs a good glow for their mograph, right? With control for vibrance, color, falloff and much more, Optical Glow will become a major tool in your motion graphics arsenal. But most importantly… Ooh! Shiny!
VFX Optical Glow has been designed to include lots of features that make it, hands down, the best glow you’ve ever used.
Optical Glow is easy to use and offers a lot of control. Direct the look and feel of your glow by adjusting color, vibrance, size, dimensions, and the handling of the alpha channel.
Optical glow has gamma management built-in, so your glow always looks realistic, whether your footage is video, log, or even linear.
Colorize and Tint
A Vibrance control helps keep your glow colorful and punchy. There’s an overall Colorize control, as well as organic Inner and Outer Tint controls.
Sometimes you want to glow everything in your image, but usually just the bright spots. The Highlight Only control lets you choose the brightness threshold for what gets used by Optical Glow.
Sometimes the core of your glow can get blown out. Optical Glow’s built in Highlight Rolloff control make it easy to tame the bright center of your glow.
Alpha Channel Options
Multiple alpha channel options give you control over how your glow is composited with other layers, or just let Optical Glow handle that for the most natural results.
We made this to support high end workflows. Optical Glow works in 32-bit float, and respects and creates HDR highlights.
Optical Glow is fully GPU accelerated, and blazing fast at any of its four quality settings.
Supercomp is a compositing environment that makes it easy to create complex, seamless composites. In Supercomp, light and atmospheric effects interact with ALL of your layers and the elements of a scene in a far more natural way and with far less pre-composing than ever before. Supercomp includes more than 15 gpu-accelerated context-aware tools for integrating all of your elements into your final shot.
VFX King Pin Tracker
King Pin Tracker gives you fast, accurate planar tracking, right inside of After Effects. King Pin makes it simple to place signs or objects into a shot, even if they aren’t simple rectangular shapes. With powerful To and From pins, and the ability to offset and rotate in planar space, you can pin whatever you want, wherever you want it.
VFX Chromatic Displacement
Chromatic Displacement uses one layer to displace the pixels of another, while smoothly separating out the colors. Unlike the Displacement Map effect in After Effects, Chromatic Displacement uses the displacement image as a height map, which gives you beautiful, organic results. We designed Chromatic Displacement for creating professional VFX, such as force fields, heat ripples, light refractions, cloaking effects, and much more – but it’s also great for motion graphics.
Spot Clone Tracker
Spot Clone Tracker is a tool for lightning-fast, simple object removal with a built-in tracker for moving footage. Easily fix blemishes or remove small, unwanted items. Spot Clone Tracker is easy to use, and even matches your lighting automatically, with options for how it clones light, color and texture.
VFX Optical Glow
Optical Glow is a blazing fast, drop-dead gorgeous, photo-realistic glow effect for use in professional visual effects and motion graphics. It’s easily the most beautiful, highest-quality glow you’ve ever had on your timeline. There’s actually a lot of science behind why it looks so much better than the glows you’ve been using for years, but the bottom line is it’s just super awesome.
VFX Knoll Light Factory
Designed by John Knoll, Chief Creative Officer at Industrial Light and Magic, Knoll Light Factory creates camera-inspired, photo-realistic lens flares that render fast, thanks to new GPU acceleration. Using the intuitive Lens Editor, create your own flares from scratch, or customize one of the 200 included presets inspired by some of the most iconic films of the past few decades.
VFX Primatte Keyer
Primatte Keyer is a powerful tool for fast, automatic chroma-keying. Whether you are using a green screen or blue screen, Primatte Keyer’s auto compute Algorithms can often pull a perfect key automatically. The new user interface and clean up tools make it easy to select and separate your background and foreground. Primatte Keyer 6 is GPU accelerated making it up to 3x faster than previous versions.
Shadow is a plugin for After Effects that makes it super easy to add a perspective shadow in front of or behind a layer, based on its alpha channel, brightness, and more. With options for softness, bend, length, color and many other properties, the Shadow effect goes far beyond the various shadow tools available inside After Effects.
Reflection is a plugin for After Effects that makes it easy to add a reflection to your layers. With controls for softness, distance fade, length and more, this effect goes far beyond the standard methods for creating reflections.

- The minimum GPU required is an Intel HD 5000 integrated graphics chip. Of course, newer and faster discrete GPU components from AMD and Nvidia will yield faster performance.
- For Nvidia, we recommend 9xx series graphics cards or newer; mobile GPUs; or the professional series Quadro cards.
- For AMD, we recommend 200 series graphics cards or newer; mobile GPUs; or the professional series FireGL cards.
- VRAM size requirements: For HD resolution output, we recommend that your GPU have at least 2 GB of memory. If you are planning on doing high-resolution project in 4K or more, we recommend a GPU with at least 4 GB of memory.
- Any CPU from Intel or AMD is supported.
