Sorenson 360

Sorenson 360 ist ein  flexibler Video Delivery Network (VDN) Dienst, mit dem auch kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen auf ihren Webseiten eine Internet-Video Plattform anbieten können, um Flash Filme zu veröffentlichen. Der große Vorteil von Sorenson 360 ist, dass man nicht in Hosting oder Programmierung investieren muß, sondern gleich loslegen kann. Der Dienst funktioniert ähnlich wie bei  den bekannten User-Generated-Content Videoseiten: der Anwender lädt einfach das Video hoch und bettet es in die Website ein.

Das Encoding erfolgt Anwenderseitig mithilfe von Sorenson Squish oder Sorenson Squeeze. Sorenson Squish ist ein Java-basiertes Browser Plugin, das in Sorenson 360 integriert ist. Wenn man für das Encoding auf Sorenson Squeeze zurückgreift, wählt man einfach die Eingabe Datei sowie eine Vorlage aus und per Knopfdruck wird die Datei komprimiert und hochgeladen. Sorenson 360 ist übrigens für 1 Jahr auch in jeder Sorenson Squeeze 6 Version mit enthalten und kann ausgiebig genutzt werden.

Ein großer Vorteil von Sorenson 360 ist die Preistransparenz. Bei Sorenson 360 zahlt man pro Jahr anhand der Anzahl der Streams, dabei gehr man von einzelnen Streams mit bis zu max. 5 Minuten Länge aus. Zur Auswahl stehen 2500 Streams, 6000 oder 10000 Streams.
